Here’s our refund policy, in full:
You can cancel for a full refund, any time, for any reason, before you send in the ashes or before your name inscription is made. No processing fee, no time limit, no questions asked.
A few weeks ago, I went back and looked at every refund request Space Beyond has ever received. There weren’t any. Not a single one, in a full year of doing this.
I don’t say that to brag, I say it because it made me realize our old refund policy didn’t match reality. We had a 30-day window. A processing fee. Fine print that existed to protect against something that had simply never happened.
So I changed it.
Once the ashes are sent to us, or the inscription is made on the spacecraft, the decision is final, the same way it would be for any physical memorial. (The policy is written out formally in our Terms & Conditions, if you’d like to see it.)
I built Space Beyond on the belief that this decision should never feel rushed. Families who reserve a place sometimes are not ready to send anything right away. It never made sense to me that the same company telling you “take your time” also had a countdown running on your right to change your mind.
So now there isn’t one. Reserve whenever you’re ready. Decide whenever you’re ready. If it ever stops feeling right, tell us, and it’s undone, no explanation needed.
This isn’t a new offer. It’s just an old policy catching up to how we’ve actually always operated.
