We’re excited to share two major milestones for Space Beyond — our recent feature on CBS News and the official opening of our online store.
A New Chapter in Space Memorials
CBS News recently highlighted our mission to make space memorials more accessible, meaningful, and affordable. The segment explores how Space Beyond sends a symbolic portion of cremated remains into Earth orbit, creating a lasting tribute that orbits our planet among the stars.
“Most of us will not be able to go to space during our lifetime,” Mitchell said. “So I created Space Beyond to create a pathway and opportunity for everyone to be part of this new space age.”

This is truly out of this world! Celebrating loved ones among the stars via SpaceX now sounds like the ultimate high-flying tribute. Its brilliant that Mitchell is forging this pathway for us Earth-bound folks to join the space age, even if just symbolically. Sending a bit of loved one to orbit sounds like a cosmic goodbye I can get behind! And kudos to making it accessible and affordable – not everyone can afford a full-scale spacewalk! Cant wait to see who gets launched next! This really is a new chapter in memorials, literally.
